Alexander Rosol has been working as a freelance artist since 2011. A pervasive motif in his oeuvre is the depiction of urban space, depicted as a fragmented and reassembled entity. The foundation of this approach is photography. The artist employs his camera to capture the urban reality, subsequently digitally dissecting, rearranging, and printing the images on canvas or Plexiglas. Finally, he works on the prints with brush and paint. His signature is as follows: The artist's work is characterised by an exploration of the relationship between architecture and a sense of deserted spatiality, as evidenced by the fragmentation of urban landscapes and their subsequent layering. The selection of colors imbues the depicted concrete and glass structures with a sense of weightlessness.

Alexander Rosol is the recipient of the Regensburg Cultural Foundation Prize, as well as the City of Regensburg's Cultural Promotion Prize, both of which he was awarded in 2019.
