Holger Kurt Jäger was born in Düsseldorf in 1979 and studied fine art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Essen, where he was a master's student of Stephan Schneider. His work brings together different forms, pop-cultural objects, and people to create a portrait of our times. Bright colors, a pointed collage that often humorously highlights the elemental aspects of our time, and a reduced aesthetic are recurring elements in his work. At the same time, he plays with contrasts and puts familiar colors, structures, and materials together in new ways. This makes things like a dog or the petals of a flower look pretty surreal. It blurs the line between what's figurative and what's abstract in his work.
