Philipp Alexander Schäfer is a Frankfurt-based artist. He is a prominent figure in Frankfurt, renowned for his façade art and spray-painted "City Ghosts." However, he has been diversifying his artistic practice for some time, incorporating oil paintings into his oeuvre. In his most recent works, he employs oil on computer circuit boards, among other materials, as a means of illustrating how artificial intelligence (AI) perceives the world. These works present a deceptively realistic image upon initial observation, but upon closer examination, reveal a surreal and flawed reality that seems detached from the familiar. In this manner, he establishes a connection between the digital domain and conventional painting methodologies.
