Lukas Zimmermann - Urban Poetry in Color and Form
Lukas Zimmermann (1999, Troisdorf) transforms everyday urban moments into visual narratives full of atmosphere, depth, and melancholy. His paintings and large-scale wall works condense seemingly casual observations into works of art that oscillate between the aesthetics of model-making and real urban landscapes. Zimmermann tells of being human in a built world - quietly, precisely, movingly.
With a keen sense of light, composition, and color, he creates settings for everyday life: cardboard facades, street corners in the warm twilight, miniature houses to great effect. His works allow us to see the familiar in a new light - as if the familiar scenes were suddenly the bearers of a greater poetic meaning. They emerge as a multi-layered pictorial architecture between nostalgia and contemporary analysis.
Zimmermann studied fine arts at the Alanus University with Prof. Andreas Orosz. Since 2017 he works as a freelance artist. His works were and are regularly exhibited in Germany. His murals characterize urban spaces far beyond his home country. Awards such as the Walls of Vision Prize (Hans Riegel Foundation), the Alanus University Tour Prize and the Germany Scholarship confirm his artistic relevance.
Lukas Zimmermann's art appeals to those who seek the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary. His works are accessible, narrative and at the same time grounded in art history.
We look forward to showing his work at E30 Gallery Frankfurt.
