Mollie Campbell – Figurative Painting Between Intimacy and the Spirit of the Times
Mollie Campbell (b. 2001 in London) develops a style of painting that oscillates between figurative density and an open pictorial atmosphere.
Her works exude a quiet yet immediate presence: they draw the viewer’s gaze without overwhelming it, creating a pictorial space that serves as a place of concentration, tension, and quiet observation. Since 2025, she has been studying under Professor Tatjana Doll at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. Prior to that, she completed her bachelor’s program at the Alanus Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Andreas Orosz.
This educational trajectory points to an artistic approach that engages with painterly autonomy, formal sensitivity, and a contemporary interpretation of the figure. Campbell is interested in what happens between appearance and perception. Her painting is compelling for its clarity, compositional discipline, and a delicate balance of proximity and distance.
Campbell has already been featured in various exhibitions in Germany and the United Kingdom.
E30 Gallery presents Mollie Campbell as a young voice in contemporary painting with international relevance and a distinct artistic signature.
