The artist Raphael Paulun's oeuvre is primarily comprised of self-portraits, in which he engages in introspective reflection on the concept of the self. His work is informed by the Renaissance tradition of painting and philosophy, and he aspires to create images that evoke narratives with a certain depth, though the precise meaning may remain elusive. Such an approach encourages viewers to engage in interpretative processes and to activate their imaginative faculties.
Raphael Paulun was born in Cologne in 1990 and is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree at Alanus University.
