Momentaufnahmen: Faded Memories

20 March - 8 May 2026

Between what was and what remains

What remains in our memory when we close our eyes? The group exhibition “Snapshots: Faded Memories” brings together three artistic positions that deal in different ways with the fleeting nature of the moment, the layering of reality, and the rediscovery of the everyday. We are bringing together three artistic positions at the E30 Gallery in Frankfurt's Nordend district.

Anna Pascher – The Echo of Memory

The works of Anna Pascher (born in 1983 in Bad Oeynhausen, lives and works in Düsseldorf, studied at the AMD in Düsseldorf) move at the interface between figurative representation and painterly dissolution. In her acrylic works on canvas, she focuses on seemingly everyday table scenes and views of food, which are elevated to the transcendent through her technique. Pascher isolates fragments from their context and lets them float in an undefined color space. They are visual protocols of memory: unclear, sometimes blurred, but emotionally present.

Sebastian Herzau – The Aesthetics of Concealment

Sebastian Herzau (born in 1980 in Schönebeck, lives in Halle/S., studied at Burg Giebichenstein under Ute Pleuger) questions the classical tradition of portraiture and still life in his painting. His works in oil on canvas captivate with their fascinating complexity: Classic motifs such as bouquets of flowers are rendered atmospherically blurred through deliberate overpainting. Herzau's play with rupture is particularly striking: neon orange tapes run across his portraits, acting like a digital disruptive factor in an analog world. Herzau stages the process of seeing itself and challenges us to look beyond the surface.

Philipp Liehr – Expeditions into the familiar

Sculptor Philipp Liehr (born in 1986 in Kitzingen, lives in Halle/S.) translates contemporary narratives into the traditional medium of wood carving. His sculptures, made of lime wood, depict figures such as astronauts or explorers, whom he removes from their heroic context and places in wonderfully human, often humorous everyday situations. In Liehr's work, an astronaut with a wheeled suitcase becomes a symbol of our own search for the unknown in the ordinary. With technical precision and a wink, Liehr brings wood to life and creates tangible snapshots of our modern society.
